School to Work Program

Role:

The role of the School to Work Program (Special Education Program) is to provide educational programs for students with disabilities in the areas of Intellectual Disability, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech Language Impairment, Hearing Impairment and Physical Impairment. These programs are based on the individual needs of the student and aim to give the student equal access to success in their school subjects, a rich and varied curriculum and employment at the end of their schooling.

Services Offered:

  • Case management of each student

  • Outdoor education programs designed to teach social and communication skills

  • Individualised work experience programs for each student aimed at obtaining employment for the student

  • In-class support through specialist teachers and teacher aides

  • Support to achieve the Queensland Certificate of Education or Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement for Year 12 students
