Redbank Plains State High School has two School Based Youth Health Nurses (SBYHNs):
The SBYHNs are a Queensland Health initiative to support the health & wellbeing of young people in schools. These nurses have worked in partnership with Education Qld for over 20 years.
They can help individual students with:
- Early identification of existing or potential health issues.
- Quick health interventions and referrals to specialists.
- Health education for individual students and small groups.
- Assistance for parents or caregivers of students facing health concerns or having health-related inquiries.
