Classroom
Libraries are a resourcing-project of the RPSHS Resource Centre. English
classes at Year 7 and 8 levels have a collection of more than 80 books on-site
in their classroom, so that it is easy to have something great to read very
quickly. Classroom Libraries don't loan out books to anyone (only the
main library does that) and the books are refreshed every term by
teachers.
The main library
is, of course, open to all students to personally borrow great reading
before school and in the breaktimes of every school day. We have
over 4000 pieces of good-quality fiction (storytelling) and a similar amount of
information books to suit many general interests. A Teacher-Librarian is
there to assist readers to choose great reads.
As a school,
we believe that a general love of books and of reading extends very
positive benefits into a young person's life for decades to come.
