Quality teachers are the real key to a quality education which is the basis for a healthy and successful life.

Our teachers are passionate about making a difference, and understand the vital role they play in the lives of their students on the learning journey throughout high school and beyond.

At Redbank Plains State High School, we endeavour to provide young people with an education that:

  • is inclusive and equitable
  • cultivates a love of learning and provides the skills to acquire knowledge that lasts a lifetime
  • provides the skills to create, imagine and innovate in the world around them, to shape their own pathways in the future
  • nurtures and fosters a student's rights and capabilities, to help each one succeed
  • prepares them with the skills needed in the 21st century.

21st Century Learning

The key to 21st-century learning in high school is to focus on developing students' critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. In today's rapidly changing world, it's not enough for students to simply memorize facts and figures. They need to be able to apply what they learn to real-world situations, think creatively and independently, and communicate their ideas effectively.

To achieve this, the school incorporates innovative teaching methods, such as project-based learning, where students work on real-world projects to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Collaborative learning, where students work in groups to complete tasks, is also essential for developing communication and teamwork skills.

In addition to traditional subjects like Math, Science, and English, the school provides opportunities for students to learn about technology, digital literacy, and coding. These skills are essential for success in the 21st century and are increasingly in demand in the job market.
