Student Council: Years 7-12
The REAL Council is the student representative council at Redbank Plains SHS.
It is made up of students from all year levels and led by the Year 12 REAL Prefects.
Council's Aim
The aim is to represent the interests of the entire student body and promote social responsibility in the local and wider community.
Council's Mission
If the REAL Council is to make a real difference at Redbank Plains SHS and in the community, we need enthusiastic and committed members.
What does the REAL Council do?
- Build school spirit.
- Meet regularly and discuss and act upon student opinions.
- Develop relationships and support the activities of other groups within the school.
- Bring the school and wider community closer together by supporting local, national and international charities.
Roles:
To create in cooperation with the staff and students, a positive school atmosphere and greater student well-being;
To provide students with opportunities of leadership and to develop in all students a sense of responsibility;
To encourage the students in the school to constructively identify and express their needs and provide a vital channel for communication and to act as a liaison between students and staff;
To actively participate in school events;
To raise student’s awareness of social issues, which promote and support community organisations and charities within the local and wider community.
