Established in 1987, Redbank Plains State High School has a proud history of delivering outstanding education for the young people of Redbank Plains and surrounding suburbs. With over 1400 students, the school offers a wide range of academic and vocational subjects and pathways to students living in the local catchment area. The school is divided into a Junior Secondary school from Years 7 to 9 and a Senior Secondary school from Years 10 to 12. The school has high expectations of its students' attendance, engagement and behaviour, with an emphasis on each student achieving to the highest level of their ability.
Students are mentored to become well-rounded individuals, succeeding in academic learning, sport and cultural pursuits. The school offers a broad academic and vocational curriculum, widening in the Senior Secondary school, that enables our Year 12 students to successfully transition to University, TAFE and employment. There are opportunities to achieve excellence through the Sirius selective academic and Nebula selective STEM programs, signature sporting programs in Volleyball, Football (Soccer), and Basketball and instrumental music and band instruction and performance. Extracurricular programs are available in other sports, coding, dance and drama.
To support students, the school has a large Special Education Program, an English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) faculty and a Learning Support faculty. The school has Guidance Officers, a Success Coach, Indigenous and Community Liaison Officers, a Youth Support Coordinator and three Deans who are responsible for behaviour management. The school has recently expanded its Resource Centre and operates a Homework Club.
