At Redbank Plains State High School, we are committed to celebrating the diversity of our community, and we believe that parents and families play an essential role in their children's education. We know that strong partnerships between families and our staff are critical to the success of our students. That's why we prioritise engaging with families and the wider Redbank Plains community, so we can provide the best possible learning environment for your child. Our staff understands the importance of respectful relationships and model this behaviour to our students, promoting a positive and inclusive school community. Join us at Redbank Plains State High School and be part of a supportive and diverse learning community.

Redbank Plains State High School utilises a parent portal called Compass School Manager.

This portal is used by our entire school community—teachers, students, students' families, and administrators—to provide immediate, real-time information. The benefits of Compass are:
  • Improved communication throughout the school community by way of a single point of contact that can be accessed via computers, smart phones, and iPads.
  • Improved attendance management. Teachers mark rolls electronically, and parents or teachers can approve absences online.
  • Access convenience. Information is available 24 hours/day from anywhere with internet availability.
  • Classroom efficiency: teachers and students do not need to spend time collecting notes and hand delivering communication to the office and to parents.
  • Improved excursion management, event information, and permission are (mainly) submitted online.
  • Student attendance records are accessible through Compass.
  • Live updates, newsletters, and school news.
  • Your child’s schedule can be viewed.
Each family requires a username and password. New families will receive an email containing a username and temporary password at the start of the school year or term.

Communication between the school and home

We understand the importance of keeping you informed and up-to-date with your child's education. At Redbank Plains State High School, we offer various methods of communication between the school and home to ensure that you are always in the loop.

Our preferred methods of communication with school staff are through the Compass App, email, and phone. You can reach us at StudentOffice@redbankplainsshs.eq.edu.au or contact a relevant staff member directly. Please note that contacting school staff via social media is not appropriate, and all requests will be directed to the school's main channels.

To keep you informed about the latest news and events at our school, we provide information through our website, newsletter, Compass App and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter). You may also receive emails and letters directly from the school.

We believe that effective communication between the school and home is vital for your child's academic success. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
