Redbank Plains State High School has a proud history where the Extra-Curricular Programs form an integral component of the overall high school experience. Our school aims to offer a diverse range of activities—sporting, cultural, and performance—that provide students with opportunities to participate, learn, develop, and excel.
Why Extra-Curricular?
Our Extra-Curricular Programs are vital for student well-being, promoting a sense of belonging and fostering pride in both individual and group achievements. Regular participation in these activities is linked to improved attention and concentration, enhanced academic performance, increased self-confidence, and reduced stress.
When are Activities Held?
Extra-curricular activities are typically scheduled outside of class time, with training and rehearsals taking place before or after school on weekdays, and occasionally on weekends. Some activities, such as Instrumental Music, are integrated with the curriculum, requiring participation in both classroom lessons and ensemble components as per Department of Education and Training policy.
How to Apply?
To join our Extra-Curricular Programs, students need parental approval and must submit registration and consent forms. While we strive to offer opportunities for all students, some activities may have limited availability. In such cases, we encourage students to explore alternative activities, as trying something new can lead to rewarding experiences, new opportunities, and lasting friendships.
